'Bundled' Mixed Metal Leather Pendant - Bronze and Steel Bundle on Leather Cord
Bundled – the name bestowed on this mixed metal leather pendant. Representing seeds bundled in a pod, a baby in a blanket or any other form bundled in a casing that offers protection and love. This bundle is made of bronze and steel. The uneven edges of the casing and the three tiny leaves show wear and caring. The long leather cord with the oval charm continues the ancient feel of the pendant. This pendant belongs to my Ancient Influences Collection which highlights old feelings still new and experienced in today’s crazy world.

Making The Mixed Metal Leather Pendant
Linda creates many of her pieces with metal clay, microfilaments of metal mixed with a binder to form a clay. The jewelry piece is formed, dried, sanded and fired in a hot kiln. During that process the binder burns away and the microfilaments of metal fuse together. The finished product of metal(in this case a combination of bronze and steel) receives polishing and a coating of a rust/tarnish resistant finish.
All metal will tarnish with time. The coating keeps that to a minimum. Clean with a soft cloth.
