Description
The Exploration Pendant
The Exploration Pendant, made of bronze, copper and steel metal clay is part of the Ancient Influences Collection. The 16″ pendant extends to 19″ with the attached 3″ extender chain. An orange CZ rests above the textured center of the focal bead. The bead measures 2″ long x 1″ wide x 1/2″ deep.
The textures, shapes and color depict man’s exploration process through out history and today. Mysteries unfold to reveal the shrouded treasure.
What's Involved in Making the Exploration Pendant?
Linda creates many of her pieces with metal clay, microfilaments of metal mixed with a binder to form a clay. The jewelry piece is formed, dried, sanded. The cubic zirconia placed in its setting fires with the clay in a hot kiln. During that process the binder burns away and the microfilaments of metal fuse together. The finished product of metal(in this case a combination of bronze, copper and steel) receives polishing and a coating of a rust/tarnish resistant finish.
All metal will tarnish with time. The coating keeps that to a minimum. Clean with a soft cloth.
About the Ancient Influences Collection
Throughout time men and women adorn themselves for a variety of reasons. We chose wood, metal, shells, glass, and gems – almost anything that captured imagination so that we could dream. The Ancient Influences Collection becomes a part of that dream.
This Ancient Influences Jewelry Collection is based on feelings and actions that exist through time. The names of individual pieces include bundling, loving, gathering and sharing because they reflect ancient values as well as today.
Metal clay is a relatively new way to create in metal. The finished pieces in this collection are based on ancient influences. Combining metal, wood and stones with texture brings you a variety of jewelry. Each hand made piece is unique so that each person wearing it shows their individuality.
